My father ended up in the hospital again on Eid. He’s fine now. But its scary, especially when last week I was at a funeral for one of my best friends fathers.

And i missed the first showing of my movies trailer in a theatre because I had a family emergency and my phone got smashed the day they told me/were showcasing it so i didn’t find out until a few weeks later when my cell was repaired.

It’s been so hard balancing being there for my family as a daughter/sister and creative endeavors, work/life balance etc. but I’m still going. Slower than others surely, but I’m going.

I was an extra on Deliboys so that’s an exciting and nice memory. And ran into a childhood friend while i was there. I find it hard sometimes, feeling connected to my community but that was a beautiful time for me in which I did. If you hear anyone doing the celebratory yodel Arab women do during the wedding scene, there that’s me. I was the only one there that could/would do that.

My 31st birthday is this week. I’ll be trying standup comedy for the first time.
